RapidMolds.com Launches Beta Website to the Public
AKRON, Ohio — October 30, 2006 — RapidMolds.com made available the first public version of their web-based plastic injection mold quoting application. This fully-automated online tool allows users to easily generate production injection mold RFQs, and provides proposals in as little as 5 minutes.
Within their web browser, users are guided through the process of specifying mold details and uploading their CAD files with an interface that is reminiscent of a "wizard" commonly seen in today's desktop software applications. The wizard allows the user to create single part, family, or multi-cavity mold RFQs and offers many highly-desirable mold specification features including hot runner manifolds and multi-plate mold bases.
Once an RFQ (Request for Quote) is submitted, the RapidMolds.com software automatically begins calculating the volumes, surface areas, and sizes of all cores, cavities, and undercuts, and accurately estimates the cost of materials and the cost to CNC, EDM and polish all cores, cavities, slides and lifters. Users then receive a proposal via e-mail within a matter of minutes.
"The RapidMolds.com process is a great way we can help customers get their products to market faster," said Brad Borne, president of RapidMolds.com. "We are very excited to be announcing our first public release today."
During its Beta release, all quotes generated by the RapidMolds.com application are reviewed manually before being returned to the customer, creating a slight delay in the processing of all quotes through the system. A final public version of the application is estimated to be released in early 2007.
